FORTE CULTURA Station: Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, Koblenz (DE)

The Ehrenbreitstein in Koblenz is home to one of the most impressive fortifications in Europe. In addition to the fascinating architectural design in the style of a neo-Prussian fortification, it also offers a rich cultural and event programme.

At Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, you can expect multimedia productions, open-air festivals and plenty of eventful history in the Koblenz State Museum and on the impressive fortress grounds, which hosted the BUGA in 2011.

Enjoy the spectacular view of the city of Koblenz, the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle rivers at the Deutsches Eck, the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley, and take the cable car across the Rhine.

The Ehrenbreitstein Fortress in Koblenz is the headquarters of the General Directorate for Cultural Heritage Rhineland-Palatinate (GDKE) and is one of the 11 fortress monuments in the GDKE's inventory and care.

    Hello,
Can you let me know if the fortress is accessible to wheelchair users. If yes, are there any parts they cannot visit.

    Regards

    1. Hi, the fortress provides almost completely barrier-free access with ramps, lifts, toilets, cable car and fortress lift, parking spaces for the disabled (subject to a charge), rollator and wheelchair hire, Braille, tactile pictograms and tactile floor system for orientation, seven three-dimensional fortress models and more. The fortress information point can provide further information. Regards.
