Fort Prusy, eventful (fortress) history in Upper Silesia

Fort Prusy (Fort Prussia) was built between 1743 and 1745 and is part of the Nysa Fortress in the Opole Voivodeship. The Nysa Fortress was a key element of the Prussian defence system on the then border with Poland. Due to its strategic location, it was the scene of numerous conflicts and battles. In 1807, during the Napoleonic Wars, it successfully repelled the attacks of Napoleon's troops for 114 days.

Fort Prusy not only represents the military past, today it is a lively entertainment and history learning centre that combines educational and leisure elements, making it an ideal place for the whole family.
