Hiking opening on the Hornisgrinde

The Hornisgrinde offers magnificent distant views of the Rhine Valley, the Vosges Mountains and the surrounding Black Forest mountains.

• Opening of the franz. Command bunker at the Hornisgrinde observation tower from 10:30-17:00.
• All-day catering in the Grinde hut.
• At 2.00 pm musical entertainment with the Kniebis alphorn group at the viewing tower.

Guided tours on the history of defence

The high moorland area of the Hornisgrinde invites you to hike or walk with gigantic views. The boards on the Grindenpfad trail clearly explain the flora, fauna and climate of the Grinden. The Bismarck Tower can be climbed. Two defence history tours across the summit plateau provide visitors with interesting facts about the military history of the Black Forest mountain.
