Büdingen spring fever, children's festival & frog parade 2026

to the Büdinger Frühlingsgefühlen on 03 May 2026.

When the first rays of sunshine warm us up, the birds chirp again in the morning, butterflies fly around not just in our stomachs, the buds open and the flowers are in full bloom, then we know it's time again - spring is here.

In the midst of historic walls and buildings, surrounded by a colourful sea of flowers, we cordially invite you to the Büdinger Frühlingsgefühlen, which will open its doors on 3 May 2026.

Let yourself be enchanted by the ambience of Büdingen's old town centre. This year, we are particularly pleased that we have been able to attract new market vendors thanks to the new Spring Fever concept: In addition to the usual range of plants and garden products, there will be jewellery, decorative items and much more to discover.

The event, which is free of charge for visitors, is rounded off by a musical programme. Many culinary delicacies invite you to savour and linger.

While the old town centre is filled with spring fever, a variety of activities await our younger guests at the children's festival. High-wire climbing, a giant slide, the iconic bobby car race, a tombola and much more make for an eventful children's day. A stage programme for young and old, co-designed by children, will also provide fun and entertainment.

The festival for the whole family starts with the big frog parade. With this parade, the people of Büdingen celebrate their unofficial heraldic animal - the frog. The unusual parade starts at 11:00 am at the Hain and goes through the castle and the Schlossgasse to the market square, where the Spring Fever will be opened at the same time. The parade continues through the suburbs via Bahnhofstraße to the city administration.
