Fortified City Litoměřice Litoměřice is located at the mouth of the Eger into the Elbe, 2 km north of the ideal fortress town of Terezín. As a ferry point across the Elbe, Litoměřice was settled early on and be - came increasingly important. The city fortifi - cations were extended in several cycles until the 17th century, and parts are still preserved today. Worth seeing are the historic old town with St. Stephen‘s Cathedral, the regional museum and the Jesuit College. Opevnění města Litoměřice Litoměřice leží na soutoku Labe a Ohře 2 km severně od pevnostního města Terezín. Jako místo přechodu přes Labe vzniklo zdejší osídlení již velmi brzy a postupně získalo na důležitosti. Městské opevnění bylo budováno kontinuálně až do 17. století. Části z něj jsou dodnes patrné. Za návštěvu stojí historický střed města a katedrála sv. Štěpána, regio - nální muzeum a Jezuitská kolej. www.litomerice.cz
