Symbole de culture, de m\u00e9moire et de d\u00e9fense, la citadelle d'Alexandrie est \u00e9galement un symbole de la planification europ\u00e9enne : elle est le si\u00e8ge du projet \u00ab Comunit\u00e0 Patrimoniale Faro \u00bb (Communaut\u00e9 phare) du Conseil de l'Europe, qui vise \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper de nouveaux mod\u00e8les de gestion commune, durable et innovante du patrimoine culturel. La valeur de la citadelle r\u00e9side dans son caract\u00e8re interdisciplinaire : elle est \u00e0 la fois une \u00ab anthologie des types de d\u00e9fense \u00bb (\u00e0 commencer par le syst\u00e8me
