Hlavn\u00edm \u00fa\u010delem t\u00e9to 289 hektar\u016f velk\u00e9 pevnosti byla ochrana severn\u00ed hranice rakousk\u00e9ho c\u00edsa\u0159stv\u00ed proti Prusk\u00e9mu kr\u00e1lovstv\u00ed.
